Experimental Rock Characterisation of Upper Pannonian Sandstones from Szentes Geothermal Field, Hungary

چکیده
The Upper Pannonian (UP) sandstone formation has been utilised for thermal water production in Hungary several decades. Although sustainable utilisation requires the reinjection of cooled geothermal brine into host rock, only a fraction used is reinjected country. UP reported to exhibit low injectivity, making challenging, and its petrophysical properties are poorly known, which increases uncertainty designing operational parameters. goal study provide experimental data gain better understanding characteristics that control injectivity productivity issues layers. Petrographical characterisation laboratory experiments conducted on cores retrieved from two wells drilled framework an R&D project at depth between 1750 m 2000 m. experiments, such as grain density, porosity, permeability, ultrasonic velocity, well thin section, size distribution, XRD, SEM analyses, determine Petrophysical Rock Types (PRT) share distinct hydraulic (flow zone indicator, FZI) characteristics. These identify intervals with lower potential issues. results imply fines migration due erosion one key processes must be understood controlled order mitigate area. Future investigation should include numerical damage, including water–rock interaction tests, critical flow velocity measurements, analysis under reservoir conditions.

Experimental Study of Foam Flooding in Low Permeability Sandstones: Effects of Rock Permeability and Microscopic Heterogeneity
Foam flooding (or injection of foam) is a common technology to enhance oil recovery. Although the effects of permeability on foam flooding were well studied in many laboratory experiments, little research has been focused on the specificity of low permeability. In this paper, a series of constant-quality nitrogen foam flow experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of permeability on...
متن کاملGeothermal Energy Production and Utilization in Hungary
The utilization of geothermal energy has a long tradition in Hungary. When the present economic recession in the country ends in the near future, geothermal energy will surely play an increasing role in the energy supply. The paper shortly reviews the history of geothermal power use and discusses the present state of geothermal energy production in the country. Present power statistics as well ...
متن کاملRock/water interaction in dielectric properties: Experiments with hydrophobic sandstones
The dielectric constant of a partially saturated sandstone varies as a function of the level of water saturation. Experimental data indicate that rock/water interaction, at low saturations, has a large effect on the measured dielectric response. To theoretically predict the dielectric constant of the rock/water/air system, this rock/water interaction must be accounted for by including the effec...
متن کاملRheology of the Lower Crust and Upper Mantle: Evidence from Rock Mechanics, Geodesy, and Field Observations
Rock-mechanics experiments, geodetic observations of postloading strain transients, and microand macrostructural studies of exhumed ductile shear zones provide complementary views of the style and rheology of deformation deep in Earth’s crust and upper mantle. Overall, results obtained in small-scale laboratory experiments provide robust constraints on deformation mechanisms and viscosities at ...

The concept of “national competitiveness” is mostly confused with that of development of countries, often reduced to their economic growth only, and with that of competitiveness of enterprises of the latter, too. Its measurement by some composite indexes, particularly by the single “Global Competitiveness Index” in the annual reports of the World Economic Forum is not only biased by the neo-lib...
